Peter Knox was educated at Wadham College, Oxford, where he graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Classics. He was awarded a Benefactors' Law Scholarship by the Middle Temple.

Career:
Called to the Bar: 1983
Member of the South Eastern Circuit

Practice:
Main practice areas: commercial and business law; appellant work in the Privy Council.

His practice comprises commercial and business law, professional negligence, and financial services law. In particular, he specialises in banking disputes concerning guarantees and mortgages; in disputes concerning agents (especially the commercial agency regulations); and in claims concerning the misselling of endowment policies and pensions. He has wide experience of obtaining freezing orders on an urgent basis in contractual disputes. He has also conducted a substantial piece of group litigation concerning misselling of investments and solicitors' negligence.

He also undertakes public law work, in particular cases involving contractual claims against public bodies; and real property work, in particular cases concerning easements or adverse possession.

He also specialises in a broad range of appellate work in the Privy Council, including constitutional cases, contract and public law cases, and criminal cases.
